Outline Requirements

Your preliminary outline assignment is technically a rough draft of what you will include with your final draft of the argumentative research paper. In each case, the format is the same.

On the day the rough draft version of the outline is due, please be sure the following conditions have been met:

1. The outline is double-spaced.

2. The outline contains the following three pieces of information (please note--in this order!):

a. Thesis statement (position on an issue) in complete sentence form

b. An overview of the main points, numbered, lettered, bulleted--it doesn't matter

c. Specific audience profile statement.

3. Submitted during submission window.

4. Confine your outline to a single page, double-spaced. If you get to a second page, you have included too much info in the outline portion.
