A Writing Profile

What I'd like you to do is reflect for a few moments on how you feel about writing. Start, perhaps, with thinking about how writing has affected your life, and see if you can find an example.

Maybe you can recall a time (writing for yourself or for a school assignment) when writing enabled you to think in a way that surprised you.  What kind of writing were you doing and what did you discover?  Or think of an occasion when you did extremely well on a writing assignment.  How did that happen and what did you accomplish

Or perhaps you once needed to communicate anger, love, or disagreement to someone, and writing seemed the best way to do it.  What caused the situation, what did you say, and what was the response?

Maybe you have always feared or hated writing.  If this is really how you feel, think back: how did this happen? Was it one event or experience that made you fear or hate writing? What happened and how did this cause you to fear or hate writing?

These are just some examples of what you might write about. You need not answer all these questions, but consider those that seem most relevant to your own experiences with writing.

Please double-space your document before you submit it and be sure your name is at the top. Check spelling and grammar before you print, and if Word questions your grammar and you're not sure why, call me over and let's see what Word is fussing about.
