Elementary Algebra Study Materials for the Accuplacer Exam

The Elementary Algebra test measures your skills in three main categories
a. Operations with integers and rational numbers
This includes addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with integers and negative rational numbers along with the use of absolute values and ordering.
b. Operations with algebraic expressions.
This includes evaluations of simple formulas and expressions as well as adding and subtracting monomials and polynomials. Also covered is evaluation of positive rational roots and exponents, simplifying algebraic fractions and factoring.
c. Equation solving, inequalities and word problems.
This includes solving verbal problems presented in algebraic context, geometric reasoning, the translation of written phrases into algebraic expressions and graphing.
