Two-Year Degree
in Business
Plus a
Four-Year Degree in
Business Administration
Anoka-Ramsey Community College and
Metropolitan State University
Anoka-Ramsey Community College and Metropolitan State University offer an exciting opportunity for individuals to earn a bachelor of science degree in business administration. All courses needed to complete the B.S. degree are offered on the Coon Rapids campus of Anoka-Ramsey Community College.
Anoka-Ramsey Community College provides the freshman- and sophomore-level courses that transfer easily to Metropolitan State University. The A.S. degree in business is completed first by many students, which includes approximately 40 credits of general education and 32 credits of business classes (the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum is included in the A.S. degree).
Your junior- and senior-level courses required for the B.S. degree are offered by Metropolitan State during the day and evening. Many courses are also available online or in an independent study format. Students typically enroll in one or more courses per semester.
Admission Requirements
After you have completed a minimum of 45 lower-division credits at Anoka-Ramsey or another accredited college or university or you have earned an A.S. degree in business, you will apply for admission to Metropolitan State University. It is not required that you complete the entire A.S. degree in business but many students prefer to earn the two-year degree before pursuing the four-year degree. You must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average.
The following Anoka-Ramsey foundation courses or equivalents from another school are part of the 45-credit minimum admission requirement and must be completed before you are admitted to this program:
| Introduction to Computers | Bus 1112 |
| Financial Accounting | Bus 1125 |
| Principles of Management | Bus 2244 |
| College Algebra | Math 1200 |
Students must meet Anoka-Ramsey's graduation requirements
if you are earning an A.S. degree in business. Students must meet Metropolitan
State University's graduation requirements for a B.S. degree, which includes
general education and liberal studies requirements, business core courses, and
business administration major courses. A minimum of 124 semester credits, of
which 41 credits are upper division, must be completed with a cumulative GPA of
2.0 or higher. More information about the A.S. degree
is available here.
