Designer's Guide: Grading Quizzes

When you are ready to grade a quiz, click QUIZZES on your the Navigation Bar at the top of your D2L screen.  This will open you Quiz List.

When you click on the Grade Quiz icon  at the right of the quiz title, you are presented with some options for grading quizzes.


 
By selecting the appropriate boxes you can change the following quiz display options:
  • ID displays the students' IDs beside their names.
  • Quiz Score displays the score beside the students' names.
  • Percent displays the % beside the students' names.
  • Completed displays the date and time the quiz was completed.
  • Allow Reset allows you to rest the students' grade.  If you choose this option, a deleted icon will appear beside the student's attempts.
All students are listed on the left side of the frame.  The names of students who have submitted results for that quiz appear in bold font.  You can access their attempts and their overall results.

The following information is displayed at the top of the quiz results:

  1. Click on the quiz attempt number you wish to grade.  The student's entire quiz is displayed including question data, the student's answers and the correct answers.  If a student's answer is correct, it will be marked with a check, and if it is wrong, it will be marked with an X.
  2. You can give the student feedback on any individual question by clicking on Add Feedback below the question.
  3. Assign a score below the question.  If you wish to override an existing auto-score, you can do this here.
  4. At the bottom of the page you can give overall quiz feedback to the student.
  5. After you have finished scoring the quiz, press the Re-Calculate Final Mark button.
  6. SAVE RESULTS.
Note: If a student leaves a quiz without submitting it, the quiz will be displayed as In Progress.  You can impersonate that student by clicking on the "Change user" icon   beside the student's name.  Click Submit Quiz.  Click Restore Session on the pop-up and continue grading the quiz.
