This workshop is especially designed for faculty
who would like to use D2L as the platform for developing online support
for a traditional course that meets regularly on campus. D2L offers
the following advantages to faculty who want to build course websites:
D2L sites are fully integrated with ISRS,
so the classlist will be automatically loaded into you course site each
semester.
The D2L course site provides teacher and students
with a class email system that is internal to the class and separate from
other college email.
Teachers can make course materials available
to students 24/7: the syllabus, handouts, assignment instructions, study
guides, practice tests, and make-up work.
D2L course calendar reminds students of test
dates, assignment due dates, and any other class events that the teacher
may want to post.
The D2L locker provides each student with
an area to upload files of work in progress at home or on campus.
Students no longer have to carry discs that are easily damaged or lost.
Students can use the D2L chat and discussion
tools to work together outside of class time on group projects and group
assignments.
