This workshop is especially designed
for faculty who have no previous with instructional management software.
The workshop will begin with an overview of the D2L platform. Participants
will follow a step-by-step guide to build a website for an online or blended
course in the new D2L platform. In addition to hands-on exploration
of the course designer tools and instructional tools offered by D2L, participants
will also explore best practices for online instruction. In
the process of this course development, we will also explore ways to improve
instruction by incorporating more active learning strategies.
Outcomes
By the end of the workshop, participants will
have
customized the learning environment in their
D2L course sites
developed a plan for the course content
that includes at least one new active learning strategy in each unit
implemented an assessment plan that clearly
assesses student achievement of each of the course outcomes.
