Coming of Age in Mississippi
Due Wednesday, 3/12, 9 a.m.

Extra Credit:
You can earn UP TO 2 (two) points extra credit.  Points will be added to your final course grade.

Upload your paper to the Assignment Dropbox on D2L.  It is due at the same time as the regular weekly reading assignment.  In other words, if you're doing the extra credit, you will be submitting two separate documents to two separate drop boxes.

Extra credit Assignment: Read Parts 1 AND 3 (Childhood and College.)  You must read both.  Next, write a 3 page typed double-spaced reaction paper.  In your paper, summarize what happened in each section (focusing only on the extra credit sections) AND provide your reaction to it.  Your paper should demonstrate that you read the extra credit sections, and also share your reaction/analysis.  You might wish to consider this question: What did this section teach you about life in Mississippi and the Civil Rights Movement?

No late papers accepted.  Your paper will not be accepted if you fail the quiz in class   Committing academic dishonesty on this assignment will result in zero extra credit and a 10 point deduction on your LA score << this means you should NOT use AI to write this paper, as there will be an automatic penalty applied and you will be reported to the Dean for academic dishonesty.

Citations: At the end of each paragraph, provide the page numbers where you located your answer. This means you will likely have a list of several page numbers at the end of each paragraph.  At the top of the document, tell me which version of the book you are using (publisher, publication date, where you located the book) so I can cross-reference your citations if needed.  If you do not provide a citation at the end of each paragraph, you will not receive credit.  Please remember the citations are designed to demonstrate you gathered your answers from the class readings, so keep that in mind while writing.
