Step 3 After letting the blade get up to speed (about 1 second) gently pull the blade through the material. Keep your left hand firmly on the material, and your right hand firmly on the handle. Pull the blade as far down as it will go. Once the saw has traveled as far as it will, guide the saw back to its upright position. Do not let the saw spring back on its own. Finally, be sure to wait until the saw blade stops spinning to reach into the cutting area.
