Dr. John Froelich

Dr. Froelich holds a BS Degree in Music Education from St. Cloud State University, a MA Degree in Music Education and a PhD in Music from the University of Minnesota.  He is a past-president of the Minnesota Music Educators Association and has held appointments with the Music Educators National Conference. For 30 years, he taught instrumental music in Minnesota’s schools including the Osseo Public Schools, Gustavus Adolphus College, the College of St. Benedict,  and he has worked for the Minnesota Department of Education.  He is an active musician who performs regularly as the bass-trombonist with the  Lake Wobegon® Bass Band, the Basilica (Minneapolis) Brass Quartet, and the Riverside Brass Quintet. Much his schedule is now devoted to helping schools improve reading and math test results and he has developed a measurement tool for use in classrooms to assist teachers in planning effective teaching strategies.
