
Richard F. Miller is a retired music educator. His teaching career includes the Gilman, Wisconsin Public Schools, the Chisago City, MN Public Schools and twenty-seven years in the Mounds View Public Schools. Dick earned his Bachelors Degree from the the University of Wisconsin - River Falls and a Masters Degree from Case Western Reserve Univerisity in Cleveland, OH. He has aslo done graduate studies at the University of Minnesota, St. Thomas University and Hamline University.
Dick began his trumpet playing career at the age of 9 in the public schools of St, Paul Park. He played in the prestigious St. Paul Park High School Band, under the direction of Paul Storti for six years (he was admitted to the band as a seventh grader.) Dick has studied trumpet with such well known teachers as Bernard Aldestein of the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra, Stephen Chennet of the Minnesota Orchestra and Conrad DeJong at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls. He has played with numerous area musical groups including the Lake Wobegon Brass Band, the Riverside Theartre Orchestra and the Ted Eastman Orchestra. He is a founding member of the North Metropolitan Brass Quintet and the Lake Wobegon Brass Band.
Dick is also a Certified Financial Planner. He has owned and operated his financial advisory business in New Brighton since 1981.
