Tuesday, November 15 @ 7:30pm

in the ARCC Performing Arts Center

The St. Cloud State University Percussion Ensemble, Drumset Ensemble and Mallet Ensemble are touring Central Minnesota from November 14 - 15 advocating in support of music education in the schools and promotion of the percussive arts. Dr. Terry Vermillion is Professor of Percussion Studies at SCSU and is the director of each of the ensembles. He and 16 students from SCSU will be presenting performances and workshops for students and communities in Rogers, Mankato, Hastings, and at Anoka-Ramsey Community College in Coon Rapids. The performances are designed to feature all of the best that the percussive arts can offer including music for large percussion ensemble; a Max Roach composition for drum set ensemble; a beautiful arrangement of Eric Whitacre’s choral work Sleep; a bombastic composition based on the famous drum beats of Led Zeppelin’s John Bonham; and even a piece for power tools (including a weed eater). The concerts are designed for all ages and are guaranteed to entertain.
