Program Information

Anoka-Ramsey Community College offers the nursing program on both campuses, one in Cambridge, Minnesota and one in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Two RN completion options are available.

  • The two-year RN option is offered on both campuses and is designed for students with no previous nursing experience. The two-year RN program consists of 30 general education credits and 34 core nursing credits. All core nursing courses must be completed sequentially within a two-year period.

  • The one-year LPN-RN Option is currently only offered on the Coon Rapids campus and is commonly referred to as the Mobility Program. It is designed for LPNs seeking to become registered nurses and consists of 30 general education credits and 22 core nursing credits. All core nursing courses must be completed sequentially within a one-year period.

Nursing Student

Both programs prepare students for beginning professional nursing practice.

The General Information Packet has a complete listing of program courses. Coursework includes lectures, on-campus labs, and clinical experiences at health care facilities.

In addition to tuition and book costs, students should be prepared to spend a minimum of $300 for required program expenses. These costs include uniforms, required testing, supplies, liability insurance, and other program-related expenditures while in the program.
