Family: Mint (Lamiaceae)

Height: 2 - 4' (60 - 120 cm)

Flower Size: 1/4 - 3/8" (6 -10 mm)

Flowering Season: June - September

Ecological Preferences: Dry ground prairie

Select Characteristics: The dense spike of flowers is often interrupted with short spaces. The leaves and dried flowers have a strong anise (licorice) odor.
