Square-stemmed Monkey-flower (Mimulus ringens)

Other Common Name: Lavender Musk

Family: Snapdragon (Scrophulariaceae)

Height: 1 - 3' (30 - 90 cm)

Flower Size: 1" (2.5 cm) long

Flowering Season: June - September

Ecological Preferences: Wet soil. It is found here only in the catch-pond east of the Campus Center building.

Select Characteristics: The leaves are sessile, or stalkless, and the stems are square. The flower structure produces the appearance of a monkey face.
