Family: Sunflower (Asteraceae)

Height: 2 - 5' (60 -150 cm)

Flower Size: 2" (5 cm)

Flowering Season: June - October

Ecological Preferences: Wide range of moisture levels and soil types

Select Characteristics: The short, arrowhead-shaped leaves are rough on both surfaces. The petals (ray flowers) remain attached after the flower head has withered.

Historical Significance: It has been used as an ornamental.
