Attendance You are expected to attend all class meetings.  If an emergency occurs, it is your responsibility to make up the missed work.

Calculators Calculators may be allowed on some exams.   
Assignments My expectation is that you will spend an average of two hours outside of class per hour in class.  Homework assignments will not be collected but are important for your learning.  Your grade will be based on quizzes and exams.  Other assignments may be given.  Do NOT fall behind in your homework.
Tentative Exams Exam 2-5, Quiz 1 30 pts, 15 pts 14-Nov
Exam 6 & 9, Quiz 2 30 pts, 15 pts 21-Nov
Quiz 3 15 pts 28-Nov
Exam 10 & 11 30 pts 5-Dec
Exam 12 30 pts 12-Dec
Final Exam 60 pts 12-Dec
Exams will cover the material from class and homework.  Quizzes will be on the equivalence relations on the "Equivalence Quiz Study Guide".  Your lowest quiz score will be dropped.
Exams must be taken during the scheduled time.  No late exams will be given.  In case of emergency, you must contact me before the time of the exam.  Noncompliance with this procedure will result in a grade of zero for that exam.  Any form of cheating will result in a zero.
Grading 90-100% A
80-89% B
70-79% C
60-69% D
below 60% F
Rounding Rounding answers up or down depends on the medication.  Refer to a hospitals policies manual.  In this class all answer will be rounded to the nearest 100th
ARCC Nursing Students
Students are allowed 3 attempts on the final exam and must achieve 90% correct in order to enter the Nursing Program.  The first score on the final exam will be used to determine the final grade for the course.  One Final Exam retest will be given on Dec 18 at 9:40 am.  The second retest date and time will be announced during the semester.
Pass/No Credit If you wish to take this course on a pass/no credit basis, you must inform me in writing by the end of the first week.  Passing is 70% or better.  Be sure to check with your counselor first.
Incomplete No incomplete will be considered unless you are earning a C or above, have completed more than half the course, and have missed class because of extreme circumstances.
Drop/Withdraw The last day to withdraw from this course is 11/28.  See Student Handbook for more details.
Accomodations for Students with Special Needs

Learner Outcomes 1. Solve for one unknown by setting up and solving equations using the
    dimensional analysis method.
2. State equivalencies between and within Household and Metric
    Systems of measurement.
3. Interpret drug administration abbreviations that come from doctors'
    orders.
4. Use dimensional analysis to solve situational problems of drug
    administration, including Oral Doses, Injections, drugs measured in
    Units, IV flow rates and Pediatric dosages.
