Computer Lab Day

Task #1:

Write a short, informal paper (1 full page, double-spaced) responding to your Essay #1 grade and the comments you received. In the first part of the paper, briefly discuss the strengths and weaknesses of your paper, now that you’ve gotten a grade. Perhaps summarize and/or react to the feedback you received. What was most (or least) useful? Surprising? Etc. In the second part of your paper, make a list of the most frequent kinds of comments you received. For example, did I ask you a lot of questions? How many sentences have [ ]s? How many words are circled? How many commas or apostrophes or something else are circled? Etc.

Task #2:

Begin to revise Essay #2 based on the feedback you received during yesterday’s peer review. Please consider carefully everything that your peer reviewers said, but remember, it is your paper and you make the “final call” about what you will do and what you will not do. Perhaps use this time to begin to make changes to your draft. Or make a list of what needs to be done with your paper for the next draft. (The next draft is due at your conference next week.) Or begin to write down questions you will want to talk about at your conference.

For Friday:

Bring your draft and peer review forms and general questions about Essay #2. We will sign up for conferences, talk about frequently asked questions (FAQs), talk about introductions and conclusions, and talk about preparing for the conferences.
