About the Director

Thomas McCarthy Dr. Tom has taught at ARCC for over 25 years and has owned (along with his wife, Patti) the theatre part of The Seasons Dinner Theatre for the past twenty years. Tom has produced/directed/acted in 33 productions at The Seasons Dinner Theatre. He has performed in "I Do! I Do!" (3 times with wife Patti), "Side by Side by Sondheim", "The Ricochet Kid", "So…It’s Lent Then: The Sequel", and seven Christmas productions. He has directed numerous shows there as well, including "The Foreigner"; "The Murder Room"; "Last of the Red Hot Lovers"; "Same Time, Next Year"; "Steel Magnolias"; "So…It’s Lent Then", among others, and 17 of the holiday shows. Tom directed for several years at St. Croix Valley Summer Theatre at the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. Tom loves teaching, and says that directing a play at ARCC has been a great opportunity to work with a group of extremely talented and enthusiastic actors who share a genuine love of theatre. Tom has two sons, Christopher (who has performed in several ARCC productions) and Jonathon, and a wonderful daughter named Joie whom they adopted from China. He can’t stop smiling!
