Design a Research Study

You are a Developmental Psychologist who is interested in investigating the effect of prenatal exposure to classical music on language skills in children. That is, you want to know if having expectant mothers play music to their growing baby throughout the pregnancy will have a later impact on that child’s language skills. Design an EXPERIMENTAL research study to investigate this question. In doing so, be sure to address the following:

1. State your hypothesis clearly and concisely.
2. Identify your population and the type of sample you are using.
   1. Explain how you intend to obtain your sample.
3. Identify your Independent and Dependent variables.
   1. Be sure to operationally define them.
4. Identify your control group and your experimental group.
   1. Specify how subjects will be assigned to groups.
5. Briefly describe how you will meet the APA ethical guidelines for research.
