Catherine Bean

Catherine Bean began teaching at Anoka-Ramsey in 1997.  She regularly teaches the full range of composition courses, Introduction to Literature, and The Novel for the English Division, and Appreciation of the Film as Art for the Humanities Department.

Catherine’s composition courses focus on various elements of popular culture, including advertising, television, music, and movies.  Her literature courses often incorporate film adaptations of literature, and usually revolve around a theme such as love, revenge, or jealousy; or around particular genres, such as unreliable narrators or mysteries.

As an undergraduate, Catherine attended Minnesota State University—Mankato.  She earned both her B.A. in English and her M.A. in English, with a concentration in American Studies and Film Studies, from the University of Florida.
