Human and Anatomy & Physiology
II (BIOL 2114)
Practical
Lab Exam Guidelines & Policies
- One lab exam will be dropped at
the end of the semester; therefore
there will be no lab make-up
exams.
- Be on time for
each exam. If you are late, you
will have to hand in your exam when
the last person who came on time
completes their exam.
- Correct spelling is
mandatory. Points will be
deducted for spelling errors.
- Give only one answer per
question, unless otherwise
indicated, and write out complete
terms. Do not abbreviate.
- Answer each question
completely, i.e. “carotid
artery” is not adequate if the
correct answer is “left internal
carotid artery.”
- Include units of
measurement when
appropriate.
- Indicate right or left
when appropriate.
- Read each question
carefully. If you are not
sure what the question is asking,
please ask for clarification during
the exam, not after.
- Keep track of which
question you are answering. You
will most likely visit the stations
in non-numerical order.
- Unless discussed differently by
the instructor, use terms
and values given in the lab
supplement, and be as
specific as the question requires.
- Only one person is
allowed at each station.
Cover your answers with the cover
sheet provided.
- Keep your hands (and
clipboards) off the lab tables
AT ALL TIMES
unless the question states that you
can pick up the model or specimen.
Do not write on table surfaces. Do
not move models, question
stickers/pins, or microscope fields.
If you think one has been
moved, please ask your instructor to
check it immediately.
- There is NO talking
allowed during lab exams.
- Do not discuss the
contents of exams with students from
other lab sections. This is
considered cheating.
- If you are caught doing
any activity that the instructor
believes is cheating or if another
student reports that you are
cheating, at a minimum you will
receive a zero for that test, which
will not be dropped from your total
score, and an automatic letter grade
decrease in your lab grade. In
addition, this will be reported to
the Dean of Student Life for further
investigation.
NOTE: Instructors will walk around the
lab room during practical lab exams and reserve the
right to ask anyone to show his/her answer sheet
and/or clipboard during the exam.
