Once the adjustments have been
made, turn on the machine and wait for it to get up to
speed.
Note here the wood will simple be
held by hand. However, if drilling larger holes, I
strongly urge you to use a clamp to affix the material to
the drill press table.
Once the machine is up to speech,
grab the uppermost knob on the wheel on the right, and
gently pull it toward you, lowering the bit into the
wood.
Once you have drilled into the
material as far as necessary, let the bit back up, but
don't let it spring up on its own--keep control of the
machine.
Note that Nancy is wearing safety
glasses. The machine does throw off sawdust, so eye
protection is very important.
