Second, you need to be aware of the various adjustments you may have to make to prepare the saw for the cut.

Set the Fence

First you have to set the fence at the appropriate distance from the blade to make sure you will cut the material to the proper width. The measuring marks on the saw itself are accurate, and as a double check I suggest using a tape measure to make sure the width is correct.

To move the fence, lift the handle, position the fence, then press the handle down firmly to lock it in place.

Adjust the Blade

Using the adjustment wheels located below the table, you can make two adjustments: you can change the angle of the blade and set it between 45 and 90 degrees. If you change the angle of the blade, please reset it to 90 degrees when done.

You can also adjust the height of the blade. You want the blade to sit approximately 3/8" above the thickness of the material you are cutting.
