							Welcome to my Personal Homepage.
Here you can learn about my professional background, family and
		interests.

							Professional/Educational Background
I grew up in the Twin Cities and attended Spring Lake
Park High School.  After graduating in 1985 I went to Augsburg
College in Minneapolis where I obtained a Bachelor of Science in
Chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish in 1990.  I then
pursued graduate studies in chemistry at the University of Minnesota,
where I received my Ph.D in Bio-Organic Chemistry in 1996. The focus of
my research was mechanistic enzymology and my research advisor was Dr.
Hung-wen Liu. I next became an adjunct chemistry instructor at Augsburg
College and at the University of Minnesota (1996-97) and then obtained a
position as a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Medicinal
Chemistry at the University of Minnesota (1997-98). I have been a
chemistry instructor at Anoka-Ramsey Community College since fall
semester of 1998.  During the years I have been at ARCC I have
usually taught first and second semester Organic Chemistry (Chem 2061
and Chem 2062), first semester General Chemistry (Chem 1061) and
		Introductory Chemistry (Chem 1020).
							Family
I am married to Rich (pictured above) and I have two
children, Sarah (born '93) and Meghan (born '96), and three
stepchildren, Katie (born '79), Anna (born '81) and David (born '83).
We have two dogs named Bailey and Bree (pictured above) and also a cat
		named Snuggles.
							Interests
In my free-time I like to read, spend time with my
family and friends, work on home-improvement projects, and travel. Since I have two daughters who are active in sports (especially
soccer), I spend some of my free-time watching my kids in sporting
		events.
