Catherine
Bean began
teaching at
Anoka-Ramsey
in 1997.
She
regularly
teaches the
full range
of
composition
courses,
Introduction
to
Literature,
and The
Novel for
the English
Division,
and
Appreciation
of the Film
as Art for
the
Humanities
Department.
Catherine’s
composition
courses
focus on
various
elements of
popular
culture,
including
advertising,
television,
music, and
movies.
Her
literature
courses
often
incorporate
film
adaptations
of
literature,
and usually
revolve
around a
theme such
as love,
revenge, or
jealousy; or
around
particular
genres, such
as
unreliable
narrators or
mysteries.
As an
undergraduate,
Catherine
attended
Minnesota
State
University—Mankato.
She earned
both her
B.A. in
English and
her M.A. in
English,
with a
concentration
in American
Studies and
Film
Studies,
from the
University
of Florida.
