Scott
Stankey
Scott has
been on the
ARCC English
faculty
since 1994,
and he
regularly
teaches
developmental
writing,
college
composition,
American
literature,
Minnesota
literature,
Short
Stories, and
Introduction
to
Literature.
Scott
attended
Minnesota
State
University,
Mankato,
where he
received
both his
Bachelor of
Science
degree in
English
(with a
minor in
Chemistry)
and his
Master of
Arts degree
in English;
his master’s
thesis
examined the
“philosophies
of
composition”
in the prose
of Robert
Frost and
William
Wordsworth.
He
has
continued to
take
graduate
courses in
English and
Education at
the
University
of
Minnesota,
Twin Cities,
and he
received a
Certificate
in
Post-Secondary
Developmental
Education in
2009.
Scott’s
areas of
academic
interest
include 21st
century
writing and
technology,
early
American
literature,
Minnesota
literature,
Jon Hassler,
August
Wilson, and
graphic
fiction.
With
colleagues
from the
ARCC English
Department,
Scott has
given many
presentations
at regional
and national
English
conferences.
In
addition to
publishing a
short
personal
narrative in
2000, he
also had
several
articles
accepted for
the
Robert Frost
Encyclopedia
(2001).
Scott and
his wife
Joann love
to travel
and have
been to
various
places in
Canada,
Mexico,
Costa Rica,
China,
England, and
Africa.
They
live, with
their
“high-maintenance”
cat, Charm,
in Saint
Paul.
