Mankato and
a BA in
Literature/Creative
Writing from
Southwest
Minnesota
State
University.
He has been
teaching
college
writing and
literature
since 1996,
and at Anoka
Ramsey since
2004.
His
interests
include
contemporary
fiction,
short
fiction,
satire and
comedy,
screenwriting,
and creative
nonfiction.
He mainly
teaches ENGL
1121 but
also Intro
to Creative
Writing,
Creative
Nonfiction,
and
Screenwriting,
along with
Intro to
Literature
and Short
Stories.
As a writer,
Scott mainly
writes
fiction and
creative
nonfiction.
He has
published
stories and
essays in
many
publications.
He won a
2006-07 Loft
Mentor
Series
Fiction
Award and
the Third
Coast 2008
Nonfiction
Competition
and was
nominated
for the Best
New American
Writers of
2009. His
book of
darkly comic
stories
about
American
suburbia, Cul
De Sac,
was
published in
the spring
of
