Turner
completed
graduate
work in
English at
the
University
of St.
Thomas and
in Poetry at
Warren
Wilson
College in
their MFA
program.
She
has been
teaching at
ARCC/Coon
Rapids since
Fall of
2007, but
also spent
several
years
teaching on
the
Cambridge
campus.
Though she
has taught
all levels
of writing
and
literature,
her special
interests
include
literature
by women,
Shakespeare,
and
African-American
literature.
In addition
to teaching,
she spends
her time
writing
poetry, book
reviews, and
essays;
acting as
poetry
editor for
the on-line
literary
journal
Emprise
Review;
and spending
as much time
as she can
outdoors,
running,
walking,
hiking, or
gardening.
Her creative
work has
appeared in
many
journals and
anthologies
over the
years,
including
Shenandoah,
North Stone
Review,
Briar Cliff
Review, New
Hibernia
Review, and
33
Minnesota
Poets.
Her first
book of
poems,
Driving to
Heaven,
was
published in
early 2011.
