The disturbed prairie's horizontal structure was dominated by grasses
such as Kentucky Bluegrass, Eastern Gamagrass, and
Big Bluestem. Amongst the grasses were Showy Goldenrod, Dahlberg Daisies, New
York Asters, Poison Ivy, and Prairie Cinquefoil. The horizontal structure was also patchy (soil showing) in areas. It also had detritus material.
A few animals were present in the prairie, including some ants, spiders, and a bee.
